Mission
To provide strategic advice and counsel to the OMA Board of Directors, staff and industry members (as required) on reputational and public relations programs, issues and initiatives aimed at enhancing the image of mining and member companies in Ontario, with a focus on boosting labour market participation in the mining sector and attracting the next generation workforce.
Goal
To improve the reputation and public image of mining in Ontario amongst key audiences including: Gen Z ‘youth’ – the next generation workforce and their parents, Indigenous communities, government, educational institutions, new Canadians, immigrant-serving agencies and community organizations, ENGOs, media, and the general public, in order to support the creation of a robust workforce pipeline required to sustain current operations and grow the production of minerals and metals required to meet 21st century demand.
