Canadian Mining Journal 2006

magcoverThe Canadian Mining Journal has been the primary trade publication for the mining industry for more than a century.  In its January issue every year, the magazine focuses on Ontario.  In cooperation with the Ontario Mining Association, the edition features articles about the OMA and industry news in the province. 

The January 2006 edition highlights the Inco-Falconbridge merger ("Sudbury gears up for another 100 years") and the emergence of First Nickel as a new nickel producer in the Sudbury Basin.   The January 2006 edition also contains news on new initiatives dealing with the Association's new website www.oma.on.ca and the resources it is making available for teachers and students.

The magazine also has an article and photographs from the OMA "Mining: A Responsible Partner in Society" conference held in Sudbury.   In an editorial, OMA President Chris Hodgson talks about vital solution providing role of mining in our society.

The January 2006 edition of the Canadian Mining Journal provides a flavour of what is going on at the Ontario Mining Association and presents items of interest on the provincial mining scene.
