Preparing For The Future

Ontario mining companies are ready for the 21st century - ready to contribute to Ontario's future. Industry and government are working together to find new ore deposits. New technologies are making our mining operations the most energy efficient and environmentally responsible in the world and the men and women of our mining industry are equipping themselves with the skills and knowledge needed to run the mines of the future. It is a future with the strength of steel and the sparkling brilliance of diamonds.

Most mining operations including the mine, mill, access roads and tailings take up less than five square kilometres. All of Ontario's past and present mines together occupy about 250 square kilometres - less land area than Highway 401 and only about 0.03 percent of Ontario's total land area.
